Abstract During our course of study of the nuclear fission reactions, we have been using different types of solid state nuclear track detectors (SSNTD). Some of these detectors are characterised by a high restricted energy loss (REL). They are unable to reveal tracks, after being etched, only for higher ionizing particles such as fission fragments. Thus they are named fission fragment track detector (FFTD). In the course of this study, three types of such devices have been employed. |
