Abstract The theory of integral equations constitutes an important division of mathematical analysis and has many theoretical and practical applications. The main purpose of this thesis is concerned with the numerical solution of linear Fredholm integral equation of the second kind by the quadrature methods, which is the simplest of the well-known numerical techniques. The thesis gives a survey of the developments of the quadrature methods from the direct use to the iterative techniques and the accelerated quadrature technique and finally gives a proposed technique which uses three levels of integration rules to find the desired solution with high accuracy. |
