Abstract The sympathet ‘eixs s mi las a ‘very important role in regulating cell function ltiod’v through neuroregulators secreted from the peripbr. The periodontium is of a ibl mpotance for dentists in their daily work and the investigation thout effect of sympathectomy on the periodontium is very rare, so this work had been done to declare the effect of sympathectomy on the periodoniium of white NewZeland rabbits. Material and Method :- We used 29 white NewZeland rabbits weighting 2.3-3.4 kgm, which were divided into :-<br Group I : (5 rabbits) as control group. Group II : (12 rabbits) as surgical group. Group III (12 rabbits) as chemical group. Group II : Surgical removal of the superior cervical ganglion were done. Group III : Administered 0.5 mg/kg Reserpin daily dose by intramuscular injection. In each group sacrification were done at 1, 7, 14 and 21 day after ,urgical and chemical sympathectomy. fter sacrification, left mandible were dissected, prepared for histological xarnination and stained with :- 1- Heamatoxylin and eosin stain as routine examination. 2- Trichrome stain for collagen detection. Results :- - Presence of Home?s Syndrome of the left eye of the second group Rabbits as a result of surgical sympathectomy. regulating cell function ltiod’v through neuroregulators secreted from the peripbr The periodontium is of a ibl mpotance for dentists in their daily work and the investigation thout effect of sympathectomy on the periodontium is very rare, so this work had been done to declare the effect of sympathectomy on the periodoniium of white NewZeland rabbits.
