Abstract
Certain novel 6-(arylthio)uracils and 6-substituted uracils have been synthesized, aiming to attain compounds with potent antiviral activity especially HIV inhibitors. In addition, new fused tricyclic compounds as benzothiopyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine and pyrimido[5,4-f]benzo[1,4]thiazepines have been prepared as potential antiviral agents. Accordingly, certain series of nonnucleosides were designed and prepared as potential antiviral agents.
