Abstract The present investigation was carried out at the Agricultural Experiment station, Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura university during the two successive summer seasons of 1998 and 1999 to study the effect of sowing dates, pesticide treatments, cultivars and their interaction on growth, physiological parameters, yield and yield components of mung bean and insect Callosobruchus chinensis characters. The following parameters were determined: A- Growth characters: 1- Plant height (cm) 2- Stem diameter (cm) 3- Number of branches! Plant 4- Dry weight! plant at 60 and 70 days from sowing B- Physiological characters: 1- Leaf Area (LA) 2- Leaf Area Index (LAl) 3- Specific Leaf Area (SLA) 4- Leaf Weight Ratio (L WR) 5- Leaf Area Ratio (LAR) 6- Relative Growth Rate (RGR) 7- Net Assimilation Rate (NAR) 8- Crop Growth Rate (CGR) 9- Relative Photosynthetic Potential (RPP biol) 10-Relative Photosynthetic Potential (RPP seed) 11- Relative Photosynthetic Potential (RPP veg) C- Yield and Yield components characters: 1- Number of pods! Plant 2- Number of seeds! Pod 3- Number of seeds! Plant 4- Weight of 100-seeds (g). |
