Abstract

Rootrot and wilt diseases are among the most serious diseases. Which attack mung bean plants. This research aims to study these diseases under local condition and methods of control. Results of the present investigation could be summarized as follows: 1?The most important fungi i.e. Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium oxysporum and Macrophomina phaseolina. 2?All isolated fungi were pathogenic and caused preand postemergence dampingoff and rootrot with different degrees. 3?The green house experiments showed that: Rhizoctonia solani resulted in the highest percentage of preemergence dampingoff. 4?The percentage of infection with mung bean rootrot and wilt diseases differed at different levels of inoculum. 5?Culture filtrate of R. solani and F. oxysporum reduced seed germination and length of radical roots when compared with cntrol. 6? Kaumy1 variety was the most resistant compared with other varieties, while V2010 was very susceptible. 7?Seed treatment with Rizolext or Topsin M70% improved percentages of seedling stand as compared with control. Tricoderma harzianum was more effective against R. solani and F. oxysporum compared with G. virens and B. subtilis.
