Abstract

1The highest rates of parasitism caused by the larval ectoparasitoid, Diglyphus isaea were coincide with the highest occurrence of the larval of the serpentine leafminer, Liriomyza trifolii on cowpea or broad bean as a host plants. 2 The total larval mortality caused by the D. isaea was not only caused by parasitism, but also caused by host feeding which associated with the highest rates of parasitism. 3 Females of the parasitoid, D. isaea preferred broad bean followed by fungreek and sour clover as host plants during the three successive seasons. 4 The changes of L. trifolii pupae population coincide with similar changes of the number of endoparasitoid, Opius pallipes immature stages on cowpea or broad bean. 5 Females of O. pallipes preferred broad bean as host plant in comparison with fungreek or sour clover. 6 The percentage of parasitism caused by the endoparasitoid, Chrysocharis parksi was low on cowpea or broad bean in comparison with D. isaea or O. pallipes. 7 Females of C. parksi preferred fungreek in comparison with broad bean or sour clover as host plants. 8 Females of D. isaea preferred the third larval instars of its host for oviposition or feeding in comparison with the second larval instar. 9 The parasitoid females of O. pallipes could successfully lay eggs in the second or third larval instars of its host.
