Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine if using some indirect learning strategies was useful in developing paragraph and letter writing skills for first year commercial school students. The participants in this study were 80 students male and female. Two classes were randomly selected from Tanah Commercial Secondary School, Mansoura Directorate, Dakahlia,. They were randomly assigned to two groups, experimental and control, 40 students each. The experimental group students received training through a program based on using Indirect Learning Strategies and the Process Writing Approach for developing their writing skills. Control group students received regular instruction. The study instruments included: a prepost writing performance test, an indirect learning strategies questionnaire, and a writing rubric. Results of the study were positive and all the study hypotheses were accepted showing the effectiveness of using indirect learning strategies in conjunction with the process writing approach in developing the students? paragraph & letter writing skills. |
