Abstract The surgical incisions that are used about the foot and ankle don<U+2019>t always allow adequate exposure of all the anatomical structures that are involved by the pathological process. They are usually longitudinally placed on either the medial or the lateral aspect of the foot, which may cause problems in visualizing the opposite side of the surgical field or in closure of the wound. The difficulty in wound closure may follow the operative correction of severe congenital deformities of the foot and ankle is a well recognized problem. Finally; it could be concluded that the total subtalar release using Cincinnati approach could secure the goal of correcting Clubfoot deformity with a least incidence of avoidable complications. So that the Cincinnati technique could be considered the method of choice for treatment of Congenital Talipes Equinovarus deformity. |
