Abstract
A literature survey on transition metal complexes of hydrazones was made. The interest in the study of hydrazones and their metal complexes is mainly due to their biological activities. The preparation of these ligands (H2OS), (H2OBM), (H2OI), and (H2OB) and their metal complexes were described. Elemental analyses, molar conductivities, thermal (TG, DTG), spectral (IR, UVvisible, 1H NMR) and magnetic measurements have been used to characterize the isolated solid complexes. The protonation constants of H2OS, H2OBM, H2OI and H2OB ligands and the stability constants of complexes have been evaluated using the potentiometric data. The compounds exhibit antibacterial activity .
