Abstract
Seventeen cases with clinically and laboratory diagnosed hyperthyroidism presented to radiotherapy department of Mansoura University Hospital have been examined with echocardiography to assess the left ventricular functions. A special sheet containing all data as regard history, physical examination, laboratory investigations was filled for all cases. Serum T3 and T 4 were routine laboratory investigations for all cases also technitium 99m thyroid scan was done for all cases. All patients and controls were subjcted to echocardiographic to recording regional left ventricular functions using lvl-mode and Doppler methods. The results of this study showed that thyperthyroidism is more common in females than males as regard 13 cases of 17 cases were female and 3 cases are males. Also this study showed that there is no correlation between high thyroid uptake & TC99rn and electro¬cardiographic parameters.
