Abstract The site, shape and size of cataract section and the suture density, material and technique, all these factors influence the degree of surgically induced astimatism. In this study we compare the effect of scleral tunnel insicion and midlimbal incision on postoperative corneal astigmatism after planned extracapsular cataract extraction. This study was conducted on 30 eyes that were divided into 2 groups : group I: 15 eyes were operated through midlimbal perpendicular beveled incision and closed with radial interrupted 8/0 virgin sutures. group II : 15 eyes were subjected to scleral tunnel incision and closed with radial intemlpted 8/0 virgin sutures. |
