Abstract This study was conducted on 20 patients submitted for urological surgical interference. All patients were subjected to pre-operative clinical examination. Diazepam in a dose of 0.1 mg/Kg was given intra¬venously half an hour before operation as a premedleant. The time of onset and durationof analgesia were assessed and recorded. . Blood pressure and pulse rate were recorded pre-operatively half an hour and one hour after epidural analgesia. The patients included In this study were classified into two groups. First group : Consisting of 10 patients, and to the patients of this group epi¬dural analgesia was conducted by the use of mixture of lidocaine 2% (1 ml), bupivacalne 0.5$ (7 ml), and morphine sulphate in a dose of 2 mg. Second group : Consisting of 10 patients, and epidural analgesia was induced by the use of mixture of buplvacaine 0.5£ (14 ml) and morphine sulphate (2 mg). In this present study, there was significant decrease in the time of onset of analgesia in iidocaine, bupivacaine, morphine group as compared to bupivacaine,morphine group. |
