Abstract The changes in plasma lipid components during normal and hypertensive pregnancy have been reported by various researshers. The role of endothelin-a most potent vasoconstricter in the development and initiation of complications have recently been introduced (uslu. et al., 1996, Liang et al., 1996). The aim of this work is to study, reveal, and correlate the changes in some plasma lipid fractions and endothelin level in pregnant women with different forms of hypertensive disorders and to find out the possible implications of such changes on the outcome of pregnancy The material of study comprised 8 pregnant patients with essential hypertension and 17 pregnant Patients with preeclamPsia together with a reference group of I 0 matched healthy pregnant women.Besides clinical evaluationi. patients were investigated for the following laboratory parameters: Blood picture, fasting blood glucose level, liver function tests (ALT, AST, Bilirubin, albumin), kidney function test (creatinine), urine examination for Protein estimation. Estimation of plasma cholesteroll. HDL, LDL, triglycerides, F.F.A., uric acid and endothelm level were then carried out. In the present study there were significant increase of lipid parameters and endothelin in the whole group of 14Dp and in both. |
