Abstract

IL-2 play an essential role in large number of cellular function , ranging from cell proliferation to regulation of complex immunological phenomena (Farr et al., 1989). Its effects depends on interaction with its receptor. This study was conducted on 28 patients with myeloid leukemia (acute & chronic). We found that SIL-2R level in AML patient was highly increased with median value of 8075.5 pg/ml (p=<0.0007) than the control group. AML patients after induction of therapy had decreased but statistically non significant as compared to befor therapy median value 7905.0 pg/ml (p=<0.0077). Slight increase in the level of SIL-2R in CML patient in chronic phase than control group 4230.0 pg/ml (p=<0.0077). Highly increase in the level of SIL-2R in patients of CML blastic crisis median value of 8650 pg/ml (p=<0.0277) than control group. From our results we observed that the level of SIL-2R in both AML patients befor therapy and CML patients blastic crisis were close to eash other. The comparable level in SIL-2R in. AML befor therapy, CML blastic crisis attributed to their similarity in SIL-2R lever, TLC count, Bone marrow blast and Periphral blood blast cells.
