Abstract The present study was conducted on a total number of 40 children suffering from various causes of hypo- albuminemia compared to - 12 normal controls. The diseased cases were classified into 3 groups cirrhosis, nephrotic, PCM. Group I : Children with liver cirrhosis (10 cases); 3 males and 7 females with age ranged from 4-14 years. Group II : Children with active nephrotic syndrome (15 cases) ; 11 males and 4 females with age ranged from 2-13 years. Group III : Children with protein calorie malnutrition (15 cases) (9 marasmus and 6 Kwo) with age ranged from 6 months to 24 months. In addition, two control groups were studied : The first, 7 children with age ranged from 3.5 years to 14 years, the second, 5 children with age ranged from 12 months to 18 months. Patients and controls were subjected to ’the following investigations. |
