Abstract
The survivag rate of the white cells in terms of biolo -gical T1/2 and the life span of the platelets in days were determined in normal controls and in bilharzial case of different stages (bilharzial non hepatosplenomegalic,cases -in bilharzial hepatosplenomegalic cases without and with ascites: using DFP method The findings could be summarised as follows I There was no significant difference between the average values for the T1/2 of the white cells of either the the bilharzial non hepatosplenomgalic cases or the bil harzial hepatosplenomegalic caces Without ascites and that for the normal controls. The values in terms of hours being .5.7 4- 1.9 (’7 ~ 5.j 7 + 1.9 and 6.8 + 1.3 (3) respectively (P/ in both bilharzial cases respectively). (2) There was significant difference between the average value of the bilharzial hepatosplenomegalic cases with ascites and. that for the normal controls, The values in luerms of hours,zbe.-imp, -z, -1 ., . 4 ~,, ) and 6.8 + 1.3 (3) respectively (O.,’02’~’,P)0,01.)
