Abstract Intracavernous pharmacotherapy had got an acceptance as an important line in treatment of impotent men of differrent aetiologic groups. This non invasive procedure can be a rather safe and effective Itemative to many other invasive ones . The aim of this work was to evaluate and compare the efficacy and afety of two of the most commonly used vasoactive drugs for intra-vernous injection in impotent men . This study was conducted on 30 impotent diabetic men attending the indrology Unit at Mansoura University Hospital. All patients were objected to thorough history taking including the personal, sexual, psychological, medical and surgical history. Physical, genital, vascular and neurological examinations were done for every patient and those with iifferrent aetiologies of impotence rather than diabetes were excluded torn the present study . All patients were subjected to routine laboratory tests, 2 hours postprandial blood sugar, ophthalmoscopic eye examination, penile bthesiometry, penile doppler examination & penile brachial index . In a single-blind trial, every patient was subjected to ICI of papaverine (36 mg) and PGE1 (10|j,g) in two seperate settings, 3-5 days apart. |
