Abstract Psoriasis, lichen planus, pityriasis rubra pilaris and pityriasis rosea are papulesquamous dermatoses of unknown aetiology 0 To clarify tiie hereditary role played in the patho-genesis of these dermatosesf 200 patients suffering from different varieties of this group of derniatoses were chosen at random and subjected to the following : 4 1* Thorough history and clinical examination . 2. Pedigree construction, consanguinity analysis, segre¬gation analysis and eetimation of heritability 0 3* ABO blood grouping, Rh factor determination, dermato-glyphic study and HLA phenotyping were carried out a^s genetic markers • 4« Tests .or cells-mediated immunity (B-rosette and DNCB contact sensitizatxon tests ) were performed <> Consanguinity was not found to have any role in dir ase development in cases with psoriasis, lichen planns and pityriasis rosea * But in cases of P«R*P* consanguiAity would increase the risk of recurrence of the disease in offsprings « |
