Abstract

This study comprised fourty five patients (38 males and 7 females), their age ranged between 45-86 years, with acute myocardial infarction who were admitted in Coronary Care Unit, Mansoura University Hospital within 12-24 hours of the onset of symptoms, and ten healthy individuals with matched age and sex as a control group. Our study showed that about the half of studied patients developed various arrhythmias and conduction disturbance during the 12-24 hours after AMI. The lower incidence of arrhythmia in our study can be explained by the fact that the patients were studied only during 12-24 hours after the onset of symptoms(during phase II ventriculararrhythmia. The results of our study showed that there was no statistically significant difference between CPR and SGOT serum levels in arrhythmic group when compared to CPR and SGOT serum levels in the non arrhythmic group.
