Abstract In this study 100 patients with various hepatobiliary disorders were selected from El-Mansoura University Hospital ; 75were males and 15 were females. Their age ranged from 20 to 66 years. These patients were divided into the following groups: 1. Ascetic group: This group comprised 60 patients with ascites on top of hepatic cirrhosis and / or fibrosis; 51 were males and 9 were females. 2. Non-ascetic group: This group comprised 40 patients; 34 were males, and 6 were females. The liver and spleen were found to be enlarged in all patients. 3. Patients with ruptured oesophago-gastric varices: This group comprised 59 patients with varicial bleeding on top of hepatic disease. |
