Abstract To study the prevalence of anti Hcv in bilharzial Patients, study the effect of the mixed pathology on liver and the response of Hcv and Hcv bilharzial Patient, to interferon, two groups were included. *Group I : random bilharzial patient, from out patient clinics with dif¬ferent age group and bilharzial stages. *GroupII :20 patients with pure bilharziasis. 27 patients with pure Hcv. 54 patient with Hcv & bilharziasis. 60 patient, with interferon theraapy All patient, were subjected to the following :-1 Full history and thorough clinical examination. 2- Abdominal ultrasonography. 3- Urine and stool examinatioon for bilharzial ova.4- Complete liver function tests. 5- Serology of HBV and anti HCY ELI SA2 6-.For some patient .”with aAnti-HCY positive, RIBA and P.C.R. were done. IgM for schistosomiasis . 8-RIBA, P. C.R. 19M anti HCY for some patient of mixed group.9- Rectal snip. 10 - Liver biopsy for available cases.Data were analysed on IBM computer, X, SD , t , chisquare were used. Prevalence of anti HCY in bilharzial patient was 10 % in simple intestinal bilharziasis, 60% in hepatosplenomegalic stage and 80% in advanced cases. In the present study 71 patient, with bilharziasis were anti HCV positive 18.3% were with normal enzymes and 81.7% were with increased ALT & AST. |
