Abstract The diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis early in pregnancy is implicated and linked to occurrence of preterm labour and its complication. The diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis is simple, easy, rapidly made, not expensive and not sophisticated . We recommend and advice that all pregnant women should be screened for B.V as early as possible during pregnancy and if diagnosed, it must be treated to reduce the risk of pre term labour and reduce perinatal morbidity and mortality, as the treatment is simple . and not hazardous to pregnancy. Women with threatened pretenn labour should be evaluated for diagnosis and early treatment ofB.V. Lastly the relationship between B.V. and pretenn labour must be evaluated in multicenteric studies using more advanced methods for diagnosis and on Huge numbers of pregnant women |
