Abstract Modern cataract surgery with the insertion of posterior chamber intraocular leses carried an astonishinglY high sucess rate and a very pleasingly low level of complications( Davison, 1986). Malposition of the IOls had been a recurrent difficulty throughout the history of lens implant surgery and considered as a major reason for lens explantation. (Kraff et al., 1986). This work was done to study the prevention- and managment of posterior lenses malposition. incidence, causes, chamber intraocular 106 patients with senile cataract were chosen at randum from patients attending the ophthalmic outpatient clinic of Mansoura University Hospital from October 1992 to October 1993. ECCE and PC IOl primary implantation was done in 150 eyes of 106 patients included in the study. All the preoperative, operative and postoperative data were documented in a specific sheet for each case. |
