Abstract

This study was carried out on 60 patients with different types of leukemias and solid tumours taken consecutively from inpatient clinic of Hematology and Oncology Unit of pediatric Department of Mansoura University Hospital. Fifteen normal children of matched age and sex were taken as a control group. The patients were categorized into two groups: group I : Acute leukemia which was further subdivided into: 1- Acute lymphatic leukemia (30 patients) 2- Acute non lymphatic leukemia (5 patients) group II : Solid tumours which was further subdivided into. 1- Lymphomas group (19 patients) : a- Hodgkin’s lymphomas (8 patients). b- Non Hodgkin’s lymphomas (11 patients). 2- Neuroblastoma (3 patients). 3- Rhabdomyosarcoma (3 patients). The patients as well as the control were subjected to a battery of investigations. After thorough history taking and complete physical examination. These investigations include complete blood picture, liver and renal function test. . Acute phase reactant proteins (CRP, Serum ceruloplasmin, immunoglobulin):serum copper, ESR1, ESR2, ASO
