Abstract Fourty five patients with nephrotic syndrome with their es ranging from 2 to 13 years, 20 females and 25 males, 24 activity and 21 in remission together with 10 normal controls of matched age and sex were the material of this study. Nephrotic syndrome was diagnosed according to I.S.K.D.C. (1978) criteria. Histopathological lesions were predicted from a formula derived from multivariate analysis and presented by I.S.K.D.C. (1978). MCNS was confirmed by response to steroids (I.S.K.D.C., 1981). In addition to thorough clinical examination, total serum proteins, serum albumin, serum creatinine. creatinine clearance, protein in 24 hs urine and serum C3 were measured. The lipid profile of all patients and the control group were measured; serum cholesterol. serum triglycerides. serum LDL and serum HDL. The HDL/LDL ratio was calculated. The results were analysed according to the computarized statistical package SPSS/PC system. We have found that patients with nephrotic syndrome. |
