Abstract The aim of this work is the diagnosis and analysis of different CT findings of cerebral stroke in our locality as regards, incidence, site, size, shape and any associated findings. The study was carried out on 305 patients (132 males, and 172 females ranging in age from 18 to 80 years. Cases were submitted to full history, clinical, and neurological examination, and computed tomographic examination. The results of this study could be summarized as follows: The incidence was studied in an unselected population of stroke patient and found to be 52.46% for cerebral infarcts, and 39.34% for spontaneous intracerebral haematoma. Tumours were found to represent an incidence of 1.64% among our stroke patients. Patients were categorized into two main groups: A. The group of cerebral infarcts, comprized 180 patients, 83 males and 97 females, ranging in age from 18-80 years. B. The group of spontaneous intracerebral haematoma, formed of 120 patients, 46 males and 74 females, their ages ranged from 22 to 77 years. |
