Abstract In this work fifty cases were selected and examined by and CT thirtyftwo out of these fifty cases were examined by angiography. While eight patients were examined by MR. The imaging findings were confirmed by the pathologic findings in forty one patients either by postoperative histopathologic e:;amination (32j ot- by biopsy (9). The other cases were confirmed by follow up examination after medical therapy in three cases. While angiography was conclusive in two cases with aneuryysms. Two cases with empty sellae were by CT whereas two cases suspected clinically to have rn i c r o e de noma s showed no abrior rne Li t v on CT e};amination. From the results obtained in our study, we can conclude CT. is an accurate nonfinvasive method for the diagnosis sellar region masses. Angiography, remains an important adjunctive imaging technique; it is most frequently used for detailed study of an aneurysm, demonstration of tumour vascularity in cases of meningiomas and for accurate delineation of the arteries necessary For surgical planning. |
