Abstract
The management of open skin wounds constitutes an important clinical problem. Few alternative therapies are ava.D.able for wounds that do not heal adequately in response to conventional therapy. Low- intensi ty current. and therapeutic u L trasound has been used to promote tissue regeneration. There are no available studies ~valuating the effects of these two physical agents for the promotion of wound healing. This study was to compare the effects of these two physical agents on tissue regeneration, aiming at a hetter method for promotion of wound healing. The material of this study comprised thirty rabbits, 18 males and 12 females. Holes of lcm2 surface area were made through the full thickness of the pinna. Rabbi ts were divided into two equal matching groups. In group one , the right ears were treated with low¬intensity electric stimulation ,at a stimulation frequency of 80 Hz, pulse duriltion of 0.4 ms and an intensity of 4mA every dily for 4 weeks.
