Abstract laparoscopy is the endoscopic visualization of the peritoneal cavity through the anterior abdominal wall. after creation of sufficient pneumoperioneum. The first application in the human beings was in 1910, by Jacobaeus. Recently laparoscopy has gained favour. Due to The Technological advances in optics and tight transmission .In this study. We used laparoscopy in the examination and diagnosis of 200 cases with abdominal and pelvic swellings. These cases were classified into 3 main groups according to the site of origin of the swellings as follows: The first group [in traperhoneal swellings] which included 108 cases. The second group [retroperitoneal swellings] which included 39 cases. And the third group [pelvic swellings) cases. The age of these patient ranged between 17 to 65. |
