Abstract
This study aims at shedding light on the role of imaging ,modalities in primary amenorrhea. The study included 32 female patients with an age ranging from 14-26 years. Among the 32 cases we had 19 cases with genital tract disorders, 8 cases with gonadal dysgenesis, 3 cases with hypothalamic pituitary tumors, and 2 cases were miscellaneouS. The imaging modalities done for these patients were ultrasonography (31 cases), CT pelvis (6 cases), CT sella (I case), MRl pelvis (32 cases), and MRl sella (4 cases). In 12 patients with MRKR syndrome, US demonstrated uterine agenesis (10 cases), normal ovaries (5 cases), two non fused uterine homs (1 case) and hematometrocolpos of unicomuate uterus with communicating hom (I case). MR imaging showed uterine agenesis (1 0 cases), normal ovaries (7 cases), two non fused rudimentary uterine homs with hematometra left hom and absent cervix and vagina (1 case), and hematometroColpos ofunicomuate uterus with communicating rudimentary horn and acquired (post operative) lower 1/3 vaginal atresia (1 case). In 4 cases with different level of vaginal obstruction US demonstrated hematometra ( 1 case) and hematometrocolpos (3 cll;Ses). MR imaging confirm the sonographic findings and detect the Page {134}
