Abstract The genus yersinia is a typical member. of the eneterobac riaceae group. Y. enterocolitica are facultative anaerobic grarn-ve ccobacilli that grow at low temperature giving a characteristicully eyes appearance on specific CIN medium with tendency to leomorphism in older culture. Human infection occurs by ingestion of raw milk, infected eat and contact with infected animal. The pigs considered to be e main reservoir host of infection as Y-enterocolitica normally ommensal in its throat and frequently excreted in the stool. So we I should thanks God that illegate eating pigs. Y. enterocolitica had been isolated from ice cream samples in supermarkets from Mansoura City and from Damietta cheese. Y. enterocolitica infection usually limited to the bowel giving rise to terminal ileilis and/or mesentric adenitis with resulting pain simulating appendictis. Recently, Yenterocolitica reported as the commonest bacterial , pathogen in contaminated blood bags as it grow and multiply . |
