Abstract Laser is the acronym of light Amplifier stimulated Emission of Radiation. Laser light has tWO fundamental characteristics. Iproduction of identical stimulated emission process. photons by 2 _ Amp Iificat ion0 ft hisstimuI ate d em iss ion. Recent understanding of laser -tissue interactions favours the development of new systems designed for specific medical applications (Parrish & Wilson 1991). Laser tissue interactions may be photochemical, photothermal and photomcchanical. The biological level of action may be organelles, cells or tissues. The laser types con be classified either tunable or non tunable lasers. There are many applications of laser In medical field for example it can be used in liver resection Tranberg et al (1986) compared the Nd- Y AG laser and ultasonic dissector with the routine blunt dissection. |
