Abstract

DDH is adynamic process does not stop at birth, that if untreated early, it will lead to more deterioration of its development and provide an orthopedic challenge. Although DDH can be suspected clinically at birth in the majority of cases, the diagnosis by different imaging modalities could be delayed untill even 2 or 3 months later. This study aims to evaluation of the role of different imaging modalities in diagnosis of clinically suspected cases ofDDH. The embryology, morbid anatomy and radiological anatomy of the hip was reviewed in details. The pathology, the different findings ofDDH by different imaging modalities were mentioned in details. This study included 20 patients, 15 females and 5 males with an age ranging from 28 days to 4 years. 17 patients were unilaterally affected and only 3 cases were bilaterally affected. The imaging modalities done for these patients were plain x-ray and US of both hips in all cases, CT in 17 cases and MRI in 15 cases. Our results were presented in tables, 5 cases out of 20 were presented in details, 3 of them were less than one-year-old and 2.
