Abstract
This study was designed to evaluate the effect of occupational exposure to trace anesthetic concentrations, radiation and infection on health of 577 theatre personnel working in different medical centers in Mansoura city. The questionnaire study cover the work environment e.g. theatre circunlstances, work load and sources of pollution. Also, it has the personal data and the deleterious effect of these hazards e.g. obstetric and ITIedical problems. The theatre personnel categorized into two groups according status of exposure : Firstly, temporarily exposed (surgeons), secondly, pernlanently exposed eitheir rotating between the centers (anesthesiologists) or fixed in the sanle center (nurses and employee). We found that, the incidence of obstetric problelTIs were significant anlong nurses and elTIployee especially spontaneous abortion. However, the cardiovascular problems were significantly high among anesthesiologists. Also, both infective hepatitis anlong and enlployee and gastritis alTIong surgeons, were significantly high. The General Hospital showed the significant higher incidence obstetric problenls in conlparison with other centers.
