Abstract
The aim of the present study was to detect lGFl level in patients with heart failure and to find correlation between it and the degree of heart failure and impaired systolic function. The study included 59 patients with heart failure and 10 control subjects different aetiology of heart failure were chosen including rheumatic, DCM, hypertension. The patients were selected after exclusion of other factors which can cause alteration of I GF 1 level. The patients were subjected to thorough history taking and clinical examination. The patients were divided into four groups according to NYHA functional classification of heart failure. The following investigation were done; liver function, complete blood picture, random. blood sugar, BCG, chest x-ray, transthrocic echocardiography and serum lGFl and lGFBP3.
