Abstract

The present work aims to study the role of renin-angiotensin dosterone system and sympathetic nervous system in liver cirrhosis. this or without functional renal failure . Our study was done in both experimental rats with CCl4-induced ;fever cirrhosis and human group with liver cirrhosis. o evaluate renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) and ympathetic nervous system (SNS), we used blockers of RAAS as eonverting enzyme inhibitors; Ramipril and Lisinopril as well as specific blockers of sympathetic nervous system as ul-blockec . Doxazocin, ~l-blocker~ Atenolol. Lastly, we also used Ca++-channel i blocker; Amlodipine of plasma renin activity, plasma aldosterone concentration, serum sodium, urinary sodium output, serum creatinine, creatinine clearance value, 24 hour urine volume before and after the blockers ofRAAS and S.N.S. xperimental groups were as follow: Rats with hepatic cirrhosis with ascites: rou II a: To study the effect of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor ACEI), Ramipril in a dose of 0.5 ug/gm.B.W. for 15 days. Result: Increasd sodium & water excretion & decreased .
