Abstract Postopertive vomiting (POV) is still a major problem which may be fatal, many drugs were developed to avoid this problem, however none of them has a good efficacy in additional to many side effects. The aim of this study is evaluate the effects of propofol and dexamethazone 011 prevention of posloperalivevomiting III children undergoing elective corrective strabismus surgery This: study was conducted on 30 children aged from 3¬15 years. Premedication was done with fentanyl I llg/kg and midazolam 0.04mg/kg 10 minutes before induction of anaesthesia. Patients were randomly classified into 3groups (n=IO patients): Thiopentone group. Propofol group. Dexamethazone/ Propofol group. Anaesthesia was induced in control group with a sleep dose of thiopentone 3-5mg/kg while in propofol group. |
