Abstract
The present work was done to study the histological and, histochemical structure of the cardiac muscle fibers of rabbits and does. Frozen sections were prepared, To Coup land, and Holmes modifications (1957) of Koelle and ProLodon method. (1949) was used with actually thiocholine to identify activity in the different chambers of the heart. Paraffin sections were also prepared. Hnemntoxylin and, Van Gilson , for muscle fibers and connective tissue, Verhocff’s Ha.emntoxylin for elastic fibers and Cleo’s silver for. The cardiac muscle fibers were long topically -transom aversely striated muscle fibers which were found. to branch and to anastrophe with one another. The nuclear were ovens, and, central in position. The cardiac muscle fibers were divided into the intercalated. discs. 5. Elastic fibers in the endocardium of the atria and scarce in the myocardium of the ventricles.
