Abstract The present work was undertaken to study the anatomical and logical structure of the menisci of both newly born and adult human. Furthermore the histological changes that may exist in the menisci effect of forces of traction and posture is also investigated by comparing adult and newly born menisci. Ten newly born and ten adult human knees were used in this study. Were devoid of gross pathological changes. The menisci were clearly fixed in Bonin’s mixture and decalcified by 2% Natrie pecjemens from each meniscus was prepared by paraffin sections. l with Haemntoxylin & Eosin Verltoef’s Maisson’s trichron . Newly born menisci are found mainly of co Hagen bundles in a circumferential manner some fibers are radially directed at the horns of the menisci. Chondrocytes and fibroblasts are co Hagen fibers. However elastic fibers are little and the horns. The blood vessels are numerous especially at the of the menisci. |
