Abstract The present work was conducted to investigate the plasma patterns of Some gastrointestinal peptides including gastrin, glucagon,B endorphin, cholecystokinin, and vasoactive intestinal peptide in patients with some gastrointestinal disorders including gstric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, and gastroesophageal reflux disease for the evaluation of the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of these peptides in the diseased states of the gut. The patients-subjected to this study were divided (according to gastrointestinal endoscopy) into four groups: group II: 11 patients with gastric ulcer group III: 12 patients with duodenal ulcer. group IV. 12 patients with mild reflux oesophagitis (Grade I). group V: 12 patients with moderate to severe reflux oesophagitis Grade 11, III). A control group (group I ) where 12 healthy subjects were served as control ones. The plasma levels of gastrin, glucagon,B-endorphin, cholecystokinin, and vasoactive intestinal peptide were determined by radioinimunoassay technique. |
