Abstract

Peptic ulcer disease is the most important Gasterointestinal disorder, since the economic costs of it are high, Besides complication of peptic ulcer disease. The treatment of peptic ulcer is either medical or surgical However the surgical management may be limited nowaday to the complicated cases and patients with failure of medical treatment. The aim of this study to evaluate the efficacy of antiulcer medication on ulcer healing and to Identify patients likely to be benefit from antiulcer medication using DNA flow-eytometery, H. pylori detection and histopathology in Gastroduodenal mucosa before and after treatment. This study consists of 25 patients with peptic ulcer proved by endoscopy (24 males and one female) with mean age (46.5 ± 20.5). Endoscopic examination was done for all patients for obtaining Antral biopsy and duodenal biopsy to study DNA flow-cytometery, H. pylori detection and hitopathology before and after treatment
