Abstract
This thesis consists of three chapters, chapter I : Introduction and basic results, chapter II : Proximity spaces, chapter III : Perefect irreducible mappings and o-spaces. yu. m. smirnov used the finite intersection property which had been first considered by alexandrov in conctructing the compactifications for each proximity space.u.m.smirnov proved the following theorem : there exists a one -to -one correspondence.
