Abstract
This thesis is concerned with the study of the excitation functions of the single neutron transfer reactions between heavy ions. In the first chapter, a survay of the possible mechanisms for nuclear reactions is given. A short account about the tunneling theory predication of the total cross section variation with energy for the single nucleon transfer reactions is represented. It is enclude also a short account about the distorted wave Born approximation and the semi - clessical approximation theories for the calculations of the excitation functions for single nucleon transfer reactions.
