Abstract Starting from the initial conditions of experimental physical reality, we have calculated the distribution of external applied alternating axial and non-uniform azimuthal magnetic fields. In the presence of the fields we have been derived the trajectory and velocity components of a single charged particle. The sinusoidal variation of the axial field results in radial drift of electrons and positive ions, which, however, oscillates in synchronism with the field. |
