Abstract Objective : To compare between atracurium and cisatracurium effects on hemodynamic and intraocular pressure during ophthalmic surgery Design : Prospective Randomized study Setting Mansura university hospital Method: This study made on 40 patients aged between (40-65) years and the patients divided into two groups each group 20 patient. Group 1 : Patients received atracurium (priming dose 0.05 mg kg and after 2 min intubating dose 0.45 mg kg and after 2 min we performed tracheal intubation) for both intubation and maintenance of muscle paralysis throughout the surgery. Group 2 : Patients received cisatracurium (priming dose 0.02 mg kg and after 2 min intubating dose 0.18 mg kg and after 2 min we performed tracheal intubation) for both intubation and maintenance of muscle paralysis throughout the surgery. Results: cisatracurium decrease the intraocular pressure with stable haemodynamics (no hypotension or tachycardia). Conclusions : The study recommend the use of cisatracurium in ophthalmic surgery |
