Abstract The aim of the present work is to design and synthesize new uracil derivatives which incorporate heterocyclic moieties of biological value (such as pyridine, quinoline pyrazole, imidazole, coumarin). On the other hand, it seemed of significance to undertake the double Mannich reaction of uracil moiety as a bifunctional nucleophile for the synthesis of pyrimido[4,5d]pyrimidine and also introduce a basic nitrogen side chain into uracil moiety via Michael addition to aldimine or ketimine. Then annulation of these compounds was effected by aliphatic or aromatic aldehyde to the corresponding pyrimido[4,5d]pyrimidine. Eventually, the synthesis of dispiropyrrolidine was also accomplished. Ultimately, the structures of all new compounds prepared in this thesis were established by correct micro analytical as well as their spectral data. |
