Abstract Part I. : Including a literature review of of certain sulphurcontaining compounds, either, in pure form or in formulations. Part II.: This part is concerned with the application of the kinetic techniques in the analysis of the studied sulphur drugs. This part is subdivided into three divisions: Part II.A.: Included a theoritical introduction about the kinetic techniques. Part II.B.: This division describes the kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of five compounds, carbocisteine, Dpenicillamine, Nacetylcysteine ethionamide, thioctic acid and through their reaction with sodium azide and iodine in phosphate buffer and measuring the absorbance of the reaction product at348nm. Part II.C .: This section provides a spectrophotometric and kinetic method for the determination of the studied drugs using potassium permanganate. Part III.: Some of the studied copounds were determined by spectrophotometric method in the ultra violet region through complexation of Dpenicillamine with nickel, cobalt and lead ions and carbocisteine with copper and nickel ions. Part IV.: This part is subdivided into two divisions: Part IV.A.: This part includes the reaction of orthophthalaldehyde and its reaction with carbocisteine and ethionamide and also contains an introduction about the spectrofluorometric techniques. Part IV.B.: This part includes the determination of ethionamide after its reaction with eosin reagent. Also, the studied compounds were determined in the different pharmaceutical preparations and biological fluidslike urine and plasma and the results obtained were favorably compared with those obtained by the official and reference methods. |
