Abstract The Value of some clinical and laboratory characteristics for the prognosis of acutely mphoblastic leukaemia (ALL)in a group of 26 children with newly diagnosed ALL was evaluated. Single parameter flow cytometric detection of DNA content ,%of cells in different phases of cell cycle and Pglycoprotein expression were done for all patients and they were followed up for six months. The results were statistically analyzed. DNA hyperploidy as detected by DNA flow cytometry using propedium iodide staining was correlated with complete remission(Pvalue =0.045). Nither % S phase or Pglycoprotein expression had impact on prognosis of our ALL patients. Among different prognostic factors evaluated, only DNA ploidy was the statistically significant parameter predicting complete remission in children with ALL. |
