Abstract <U+2022> The purpose of this study: Developing the phonological Awareness among EFL Student teachers using English Poetry. <U+2022> The problem of this study lies in the low degree of the phonological awareness among EFL student teachers especially intonation, stress and juncture . <U+2022> There were two groups of students, control and experimental. The experimental group studied the suggested programme in which intonation, stress and juncture were taught using English poems, rhymes and minidialogues while the control group studied in the regular way. A reflection sheet was prepared and introduced to the students of the experimental group. The analysis of the students? responses showed their benefit from the programme. The Results of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the post administration of the phonological awareness and the phonological performance tests in favor of the experimental group due to the use phonological awareness programme and the English poetry. |
